I know that they didn't kill themselves, but [SPOILER ALERT--DON'T READ ON IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE PLAY HAMLET!!!!!]
Simba should have died in the first movie and he didn't, because Hamlet dies at the end of the play, so the logic still applies, I think.
