Why not? Were honoring their memory and celebrating how awesome they were. Just by expressing by how much we love them.

Well, obviously not. As stated, its annoying (or as lindsmolinari said, infuriating) when people who don't know them wear it.

You sir are correct. That's why ya always gotta ask the young people what their favorite song by said artist is. If they say Smells Like Teen Spirit or Purple Haze and you ask em to name another song and they all I dunno. I just lol all the way to the cd store.
