Either side would drip onto your hand. Not convenient enough.

It's fine if you wear gloves. I have a pair of ski gloves that are perfect for toilet cleaning, warm yet absorbent!

Not really my toilet is old and doesn't flush well, besides I clean it weekly, I haven't had time to repair it.

If the plunger is detachable, then you could use one, and then let the other side dry out first.
