What sources are you talking about? The "wage gap" is just the difference in the total income of all full-time employed women and the total income of all full-time employed men. It has nothing to do with wages or "doing the same work".
After doing some research, I realized that I had the wrong definition of wage gap (although the percentage is actually figured out by dividing womens' median annual earnings by mens' median annual earnings). Whoops.
you can make surveys and/or numbers tell any story you want. At the end of the day it comes down to $. Does anyone here honestly think that if the majority of employers could save 30% by employing women instead of men that they would choose not to because theyre sexis? Trust me, $ carries way to much weight in this world for a true wage gap to exist.
