You play KH, you ok by me. This post is just shittin on dead actors. Mockingjay actually was only a success cause Hoffman died. Night at the museum 3, only made money cause Robin dead. Fuck this post and the fuckin fucker who posted it. I am actually heated about this. How dare they. People only like Harry potter and chamber of secrets cause Richard Harris died. this is a fucking insult to dead actors.
What this post is saying is it wouldn't have made *as much* money had those certain actors died. Yes, those would've been successful regardless, but they made more money because some people go to see a certain loved actors last film, whether they like the serious or genre or not.
Sound like a recipe for success, actors will all have to start dying before a release. Avengers 2 coulda made so much more money if RDJ OD'ed and died before the release.
There is a huge difference that you are missing out on. People raved about dark knight a) because it was a highly rated movie, and b) because heath gave a breathtaking final performance that ultimately lead to his drug abuse and death. You kind of contradict yourself because the chamber of secrets, hunger games and night at the museum did not have as big a reaction as f&f7 (tbh I don't think people made a point of seeing them for that reason at all). Whereas (other than die hard fans) no one cared that there was a new f&f movie until Paul walker died and all of a sudden EVERYONE had to make a point of seeing it and (what do you know) buying the song about his death. Now I'm not saying this should take away from the movies success or the tragedy of the actors passing but there's no question that this movie in particular has been boosted by the event.
it is true- but this can be seen as a positive. The boost was not worth his death- nowhere near, but Paul loved the Fast and Furious franchise and the rest of the cast and crew- it was a massive part of his life and he probably wanted it to be a big success.
What I'm saying is- you're 100% right. His death certainly drew more attention to the movie, but Fast and Furious was an icon for him, it was part of his identity, and I'm glad that so many people cared enough to go and see it because they heard one of the actors died.
On another note- it doesn't really need to be said. It makes it sound like the movie is exploiting his death when in reality- they almost cancelled the entire thing to make sure his family were comfortable with it and the rest of the cast and crew were willing.
It was a tragedy- a horrific tragedy, not a set up publicity stunt like this post makes it sound.
Yeah but the success of this movie means there will be an 8th film. The franchise was dead, then they revived it with fast 4, then it died again at 6... Just let it go, the franchise is over
I personally haven't watched any of them- nor did I know another is planned. That's actually quite disappointing, I thought it would be better to end with 7, not to mention how difficult it will be considering how 7 ended and Paul's death
