Muslims aquire their religious beliefs from their book, the Quran. If you find anything to do with how Muslims should kill people for not having the same beliefs, please let me know so that I could give you $1billion
Quran 2:191-193: "Fight them so that there will be no disbelief in God and God's religion will become dominant. If they change their behavior, there would be no hostility against anyone except the unjust. If they give up disbelief and fighting, God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. Fight them so that there will be no disbelief in God and God's religion will become dominant. If they change their behavior, there would be no hostility against anyone except the unjust."
Is this one better? Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"
If you want to mention an ayah then may be you should include the whole thing "(Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."" it was not a message about how Muslims should behave it was actually a part of a story and a quote that was spoken to the angels so unless you think that everyone in ISIS is an angel that Allah sent down to cut off the disbelievers heads then your argument is invalid.
Quran 2:216 "Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know."
Quran 3:151 "We shall cause terror to enter the hearts of the faithless for their considering things equal to God without authoritative evidence. Their abode will be fire, a terrible dwelling for the unjust."
Quran 9:13-14 "Will you not fight a people who have violated their oaths (pagans of Makkah) and intended to expel the Messenger, while they did attack you first? Do you fear them? Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are believers. Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people"
The fact is that there are numerous verses promoting violence, and people are acting on them.
While not all muslims are terrorists, until the terrorists can be sorted out, everyone sadly gets lumped in. Unfortunately too many people are complaining about being lumped together with terrorists rather than fighting against them. You'll have to cut and paste, but this is what happens when people just complain and do nothing www.ijreview.com/2014/06/148769-peaceful-majority-irrelevant-fiery-response-islamist-extremism-threat-u-s/
while that maybe true if you pay attention to the context of the surrounding verses and to different interpretations ( keeping in mind that the original Qur'an is in Arabic and translations are never completely correct) you would realize that no where does it ask us to just attack nonbelievers for no apparent reason like these terrorists are doing it only says that we are justified in fighting if attacked first. Islam is essentially a peaceful religion in fact the word Islam comes from the word salaam which means peace. so while there are verses that can be misinterpreted to advocate violence and people who act upon them, these people in no way represent the view point and the actions of the Muslim majority who only want to live in peace.
