the ads annoy the heck out of me, not to mention for the better version (the premium) it's something like $14.99 a month.

It's actually $9.99 a month, which costs a lot less than buying every song or album you want to listen to from iTunes, at least in my case. You can try out premium for 3 months for $0.99 now too, guys. And for students, they have Premium for $4.99.
