And gently massage the eyelids after warm compressions to get the meibom out! And take breaks from your computer every 20 minutes or so, look at something 20 ft away and blink 20 times.

What's the time between xmas & new years eve called in your country? 23 comments

When I was a kid, I thought the «rom» in romjul meant «rom» as in outer space. I was so confused why we called it Outer-space-christmas, but figured it had something to do with the bethlehem star

Squint your eyes 8 comments

High amounts of reading and near-related tasks does result in higher myopia generally. And the more education you have, the more myopic you will be (statistically). But of course, the eyes doesnt know the difference between reading «smart» books and flipping through playboy all day. So the correlation with intelligence might not suit everyone in that sense either lol. I’m an optometrist, so I see highly myopic patients who’s not more intelligent than average haha

Exactly jokur. Yes, taxes are higher than some other places, but still similar to many others. And the benefits you get - free healthcare, free university, great student loan/scholarships. If you pass all of your exams, 40% of your loan get’s converted to a scholarship

Yes, I live in Norway and it’s pretty damn great. I think the taxes thing sounds worse than it actually is. With an income of around 45k a year you pay 24% in taxes. And with 100k it’s about 30%. How much is it in the US?

Finland is a part of Norden (the nordic countries) alongside Iceland and others, so they are often confused. Happy I could help someone learn something about scandinavia today :)
