The reason that this is a big issue is fairly simple. Humans and all animals are supposed to mate as Male and Female. The whole purpose of sex from a biological aspect is to produce children. Homosexual relationships physically cannot produce children. If you can name one species who reproduces with man on man sex or woman on woman sex, I'll give you 1 million pounds
I know 100% that my post above will be down voted, but I'm fine with people doing whatever they want if it makes them happy. I'm just explaining why other people are upset.
There are plenty of heterosexual women who are barren and plenty of heterosexual men who are sterile. So, if we were to go off the argument you just made, it would make perfect sense to treat those barren women and sterile men as inferiors and revoke their right to be married, considering they can't biologically produce children. Do you see how stupid that sounds? A human being is a human being- regardless of their fertility. We shouldn't place a human being's value and worth on whether or not they can have children.
The thing is, your view operates on the assumption that the primary purpose of all sexual and romantic interactions is childbirth. However, most people who oppose homosexuality are typically far less critical of contraceptive use, couples who choose not to have children, and couples with at least one infertile member, even though these behaviours are just as reproductively unviable.
So while the idea you've presented may be a factor and is often used as an argument against homosexuality, it is not sufficient to explain the average homophobe's views. The issue is far more complex than what you are reducing it to.
Tldr: stop pretending like your prejudice against me and people like me is scientifically justified. You're still an asshole.
We are already having a major population crisis. I would rather have homosexual people who adopt than a heterosexual couple who cannot care for their children or has too many.
Homosexuality is found in hundreds of animal. Homophobia is only found in one, humans. Homosexuality is commonly found in animal populations where the environment can't support the amount of animals. Male or female animals that couldn't find a mate will be just like mates, only the same gender. These same gender mates will adopt the abandoned offspring of male and female parents then raise the offspring on their own
If you're for gay rights then that's great. If you're against gay rights then good for you. We should just stop caring about who they marry and who they date because it's really none of our business anyway.
I see the point you're /trying/ make, but there are some flaws with that logic. Rights are rights, and everyone deserves them. I think a better arguement would be: if you're okay with gay people then that's great, if you don't like gay people then good for you. There's a difference between not liking gay people and refusing to give them their basic rights as human beings. If a group of individuals isn't being given their rights, /everyone/ should care, because it's unjust and unfair. Like I said, you don't have to like gay people, but I'll be damned if you're going to treat them as inferior under the law.
"because it's unjust and unfair."
But some people think it just and fair.
Besides, gays have the same rights as strait people. Strait people can't get gay married either.
Did you not see my comment above? Besides, gay people /do not/ have the same rights as straight people- that's exactly what they're currently fighting for right now. As of this current moment, there are only 36 states in the US that allow gay marriage. That still leaves 14 states where gay marriage is not permitted. So please tell me how you could possibly conclude that "gay people already have the same rights as straight people". As for some people thinking it's just and fair, it's not. Period, end of story. I'd also like to point out that there were also tons of people who thought slavery was just and fair, and, as we've learned, those people were morons. There were also tons of people who thought the illegality of interracial marriage was just and fair, and, as we've learned, those people were morons. The same applies in this situation. Like I said before, you don't have to like gay people, but that doesn't mean you can take away their basic human rights.
"how you could possibly conclude that "gay people already have the same rights as straight people""
I already said because strait people can't get gay married either. Everyone can get strait married, no one can get gay married. You've purposely ignored the argument I already made.

There were a lot of smart people who held those beliefs. Lincoln and what not.
"Like I said before, you don't have to like gay people, but that doesn't mean you can take away their basic human rights."
Sure, but in a free country, people are allowed to think they shouldn't have those rights.

I dont think gays are a bad thing. You're human. You love people just as a normal people but, gay is unnatural yo. It is, you may argue that it is seen in nature but that's just instinct. Animals don't love each other when they doin the nasty. But humans are advanced and gay should be allowed but it doesnt have to be accepted by everyone yo.
