As a military family member of the Navy, this brought a tears to my eyes.
Especially since we buried my dad who was a Navy vet one year ago. This is beautiful.
Not being mean, but why do Americans especially love people who are in the army/navy? (Just wondering) I mean I understand that they are risking their lives to protect their country but you seem very dramatic when you meet someone in the army. (Not being rude just intrigued)
This is nice but I'm feeling a bit pessimistic.. why? Why did he get military honors in death, when he could've used it during his homeless years. Why just why do people do this shit. Treat the vet like he did nothing while he was alive and needed the ️️thank you's & support. When there's absolutely nothing they could do for him now they get involved..........
It's like a lot of stuff people do that makes THEM feel good about "doing something," but isn't helpful or meaningful to the object of their good deed/wishes.
i can't read this and think that it seems an odd way to make us feel better about letting him die homeless alone, that ppl came when he died... it doesn't really matter anymore then.
