I learned something new today.. yes.. I feel stupid.. just thought there were different "sub species" of turtles.. some who dwell on land (never really thought of the "not being able to swim part") Can I blame it on the fact that in Sweden we call them all by the same? And just either but land or ocean in front of it, ie. havssköldpadda and landsköldpadda..

Shouldn't feel stupid if you learned something though
Oh sorry I misunderstood you. No, the tortoise I had didn't have the red stripe, but I have had those before. The tortoise I had we have no idea. It's powerful enough to break wooden chopsticks at least (we were feeding it meat and it ate the chopstick as well)
We were driving one day and saw a man selling a tortoise by the side of the road (for soup of course) (this is back in Shenzhen, China) we took pity and decided to buy it and NOT cook it. We bargained and got it for around ¥600, almost $100US. We kept it in the bathtub for a while before moving it to the balcony. It must have gone through a lot, as it would barely eat. We contacted wildlife services in Canada and they suggested medicine, but still, the tortoise wouldn't eat. So, of course it died. We named it Buddy. RIP
Hmmmm, its skin and shell are rough and dry, it has no webbed feet and has claws.....OMG........a water turtle. the fact that things like this only happen to clueless people, if i found a tortoise in my backyard i would make people out of vegetables and watch as my new shelled satan murdered my enemies.....I MEAN I WOULD TAKE IT TO AN ANIMAL SHELTER....
Rest in peace
