That's because the vote was passed in the Republic of Ireland not Northern Ireland. Whatever your political opinion on Northern Ireland remaining part of the United Kingdom that's no reason to make an inaccurate graphic.
Then you are either failing to distinguish between landmasses and countries. To include Northern Ireland in this map would just be inaccurate, they were not part of the vote as they are not part of the country. Refusing to acknowledge that does nothing to help you cause. If you want things to change you must first acknowledge them as they are.
You can say what you will, my own personal beliefs are that a united and equal Ireland is the way to go, if I ever see a photo or map of Ireland that does not include the six counties I will automatically have something against it
I stand adamant in my beliefs. And I urge you to go and say that to a hardline republican along the Falls road, I'm sure you'd be met with an interesting response
I'm not saying you're wrong to want it, frankly I don't care either way, the issue does not affect me nor can I affect it, what I'm saying is that ignoring the political reality of the situation comes off as little more than a child's tantrum. Including NI with RoI in this graphic would be grossly inaccurate, NI was not part of the vote as it is not part of RoI, and it does not have marriage equality. What would be better is if the graphic specified the Republic of Ireland, that would acknowledge the political situation without being inaccurate, rather than just ignoring it and in doing so become inaccurate. People have died and people have killed over this issue, at least have the respect to acknowledge the truth of the situation and argue your position in full knowledge of it instead of sticking your fingers in your ears, stamping your feet and shouting "NO! NO! NO!".
And even for both sides a united Ireland is the more logical way to go, why have such a small island with two differing currencies, educational systems, governments and even phone coverage?
Reallly? You said to argue with full knowledge on the situation, and I believe my point still stands, it is crazy for such a small island to have all that
@ecunemicalmatter Look, we don't care about what you think about there being a United Ireland or not. The guest was just saying that THIS POST is about the legalisation of gay marriage by vote. Northen Ireland had nothing to do with that law, vence it shouldn't be on the map. Stop arguing about things that have nothing to do with the subject.
