Actually, the infinity +1 trick "works". n+1 where n>0. n is infinitely large and it always added to 1. The limit however is still infinity as n approaches infinity. I can see both arguments.

yea, but Infinity minus one is a number, describing this side of impossible. its used in probability theory. like the probability that a washing machine will stop churning and the clothes will be folded is infinity-1
