I hate when my hand falls asleep and grows ridiculously long nails.

some space creature made a next on the Enterprise, the captain, counsellor and doctor were in a runabout. the space creature created fragmented pockets of time. the captain here saw a fruit bowl and witnessed sped up time where they were rotting and decaying, he reached in with his hand, making his nails grow, apparently painfully as well. so yeah, guess it's sad i remember :P

You're exactly right. Those creatures mistook a romulan engine as a natural singularity to host their babies. But it all went wrong and created a lot of those areas of odd time bubbles.

...... I'm a youngster, all I know is from BBC America. If what I've seen of the next gen, my favorite episode was when Data was going to retrieve dangerous material from a planet that was still in early stages of development, therefore it should be under the protection of the prime directive. But he lost all of his memory and wandered into a village with his box of radioactive rocks and befriends a little girl. He lives with the village and mistakenly sells the metal and everyone gets radiation poisoning and blame him, despite his attempts to help. He gives them the cure after rounding up the metal and they "kill" him

oh damn, and then they bury him, but not before he made an antidote to cure everyone. they also believed that if something caught fire, then it had the element of fire in it, just needed "coaxing" out. Commander Riker and Dr Crusher retrieved his body if i'm not mistaken, saw this when it first aired also. ahh, the memories.

Yeah, they transported him and the box of radioactive metal to the ship without the villagers being any the wiser. Data is always my favorite

When your nails grow so fast you need to choke your hand to death.
