This show had a lot of amazing insight. They talked about war, racism, sexism, gender identity, mental health, family, etc.

They mixed it in with just enough humor to remind us that life isn't all that depressing, which just raises my opinion of them. It's unfortunate that that made people believe it was nothing but a comedy show, including the advertisers of the actual show.
Most of the comments I've heard about the show are about how they used comedy to make the deeper points. Maybe this is in hindsight, though, and people didn't get it at the time?
