The woman in the video posted it herself to YouTube. She wanted others to understand how much her dog helps her through tough times. That's how it got captured.
My dog sorta does the same, shes not trained to do it however but when I have panic attacks and shes around she'll bark and distract me and is sure to stay close so I feel safe. She also does tricks when im depressed and just acts goofy so Ill smile a bit and is generally there when I break down.
My parent's dog isn't trained and she knew never left my side the month I was with them because I was having seizures. She would alert my parents and then come sit with me and lick the tears off my face. She's a small dog too (shih tzu). Dogs are amazing creatures
Actually dogs just want to make sure their folks are not upset bcause of them, this "consolidation" behaviour is pretty much exactly the same pattern as when you are angry at them. You will find out when you get a dog with a really strong ego, that does not care too much, when youre mad at it. Have fun with your meltdown, cause you be on your own then.
This is a dog that's trained for this. If you'll look it says on it's collar "service dog". It is specially trained to do this. Note how it knew just how to put their arms down and then their knees so they don't bang their head on their knees. The dog also used its teeth gently to gather her attention. This is more than instinct, its trained.
he's like "its ok buddy, im here" and tries to catch her arms.
But lucky that owner has the dog,
