I think adults greatly underestimate the amount of stress school can put on children. Funnily enough, these very same adults seem to have just magically forgotten all the stress they went through in school. Or perhaps they had no problems at all, but I sincerely doubt that.
Schools were much less work intensive in the twentieth century; my nana taught in the 50's and said that the only homework students usually got was to study. It only became this rigorous starting in the early 2000's.

I'm an adult and I don't think that way. My school years were pretty stressful and depressing. I actually think it's harder for you guys now than it was when I was in school.

Either that or we simply give up on all of it and say fuck it I'm going to bed
While school is definitely stressful, and there's a lot of improvement that could be made to the school system, there's one thing I disagree with: teens (including me) ARE pretty lazy and selfish, at least the kids around here.
I think we're lazy because when we are younger our classes are laid back and fun, but then we get to the higher grades and it's just testing and homework 24/7. And because we grew accustomed to the fun learning style it's now really hard and seems too challenging for us now. I think this makes sense?
I thought I had a stomach ulcer but today the specialist I went to told me I don't and all my pain is caused from stress.. He also said many young people around my age experiance all sorts of pain all from to much stress at a young age... :/
