As much as I want this to be true, it is a combined case of misinterpreted data, mistaken identity and wishful thinking. Then coupled with hardcore conspiracy theorist level mistrust of the government(s) and the insistence of a "cover up."

The thing is, is that in this day and age, with so many telescopes of many types and sizes all pointing up, it is absolutely impossible for something of this nature to be covered up... by anyone.
