I'm was disappointed in my town. I generally believe we are laid back and tolerant people. One if the very few manufacturing companies in my hometown wanted to build 3 wind turbines, only to be shut down by the extremists who said that no structure should be taller than our church tower...I was EXTREMELY disappointed.

I don't think they're pretty, but they're aesthetically pleasing and efficient at what they do, so that's good for me.

I've definitely seen some places where they ruin the landscape. But only a few. For the most part they aren't that bad.

Its not that they make the landscape ugly. A lot of environmentalists agree that they disrupt the migration routes of birds

The Australian treasurer made some comments a while back about how the country can't support wind power because the big windmills are an eyesore

?????what environmentalist is saying wind turbines are bad? Every environmentalist I know is all for them. In my country it's the right wing politicians with coal money in their pockets who are stopping wind and solar energy. Seriously one minister said that we couldn't have wind turbines because they would use up all the wind.....our government sucks :(
