It's very common to not leave tips about anywhere except the US, as far as I know. Also, don't give combs as presents in Japan.

I wouldn't say always, if it's good service then definitely, but there's no rule about "oh you have to give %10 tip", if the service is nothing special I've never seen anyone Irish tip, back home or abroad

The okay sign is also the equivalent, if not even worse, of flipping someone the bird in France

With the Irish one it really depends on the context, coming from an Irishman. If you've gotten to know someone (even if it's just a night in the pub) and you're really having great craic, if you say something like "can I have a go at doing an Irish accent" then there should be no problem. If anything I get more annoyed when people try to use all those stereotypes like "oh are you a leprechaun?", "why don't you have orange hair?", etc etc

As an Irish person living abroad I don't really agree with the Ireland one, most of us usually have a good sense of humor. But please don't be obnoxious about it like some people here are.

Nobody in Germany would be offended if you congratulated them before their birthday, it's just not done, because tradition says if you do it before the birthday they might not live to see their birthday. Nobody believes it anymore.

Wait ... why would anyone congratulate you before your birthday? You do it on the day or wish a happy belated birthday. What countries wish a happy birthday before the actual date? (Real curiosity here!)

Sometimes people will say stuff like " Wanna be the first to say Happy birthday" and they do it the day before... That's my only guess
guest

Really? "Hey incase I don't see you tomorrow. Happy birthday!" People do it all the time

The "okay" symbol isn't really that offensive in Turkey I don't get this at all. However, sticking your thumb out from between your middle finger and ring finger is the equivalent of giving someone the middle finger.

I'm not sure about india, that seems like a bit of an exageration. Any Indian here to enlighten me?

Hey, Indian here! It is a bit exaggerated because people do touch the opposite sex and it's fine. I think the post is referring to kissing in public and even that will only get you stares in small villages and towns but big cities are pretty okay. You just don't seem well mannered if you publicize your love (I don't agree with it either) but it's so weird that this exists because there are so many hidden sex jokes everywhere, like in every day speech, advertising, etc. The biggest one is the fact that the bride and groom's first night is so anticipated. The bed is adorned with rose petals and they even have strings of roses hanging from the ceiling. There's even a name for the night: "Suhaag Raat".

Eating on public transport is illegal in almost every part of the world but most people just do it anyway. Except in Singapore apparently.
