I only watched it the once but she didn't seem to care much about the money, she had his kid and she just wanted her son to have a father

He wasn't the father. The kid has aids and she needed someone to take care of the kid.

You need to watch the whole fucking movie. She comes back, they bang, she leaves. He meets her years later and meets his son. She dies of cancer. End. She's not a gold digger.
