Story that happened to me - made me realize how much of a "friend" this girl was... - (might be a little too long - sorry).
Okay, so back at the start of the year, there was a girl in my English class who sat behind me and one of my best friends (Eric).
This girl (who I'm going to call M for privacy) obviously had a crush on him. I even heard her talking about him to the girl beside her. Once when the teacher asked to exchange phone numbers for homework buddies, she very aggressively asked for his, and he, who is very timid, told me to give it to her, because he didn't remember it. (He's not dumb - most people don't remember their own cellphone numbers.)
Instantly I could tell she hated me, and so I was extremely nice to her. After a while she softened up to me and we became pretty good friends. I don't know what promoted her behaviour, but I'm generally a nice person so I was nice back to her.
>>>FAST FORWARD A COUPLE OF MONTHS (END OF SEMESTER)>>>
She tells me, "You dated Eric, right? You guys seemed very close."
Me: "Haha, no, he's just my best friend."
Her: "Really?”
Me: *shifts uncomfortably* *noots internally* "Yeah... why?"
Her: "The only reason I was nice to you was because I wanted to get with Eric."
I would've too, but I'm most likely going to get my ass kicked back. Other story: On April Fools, she faked coming out as a lesbian! Like, who does that?!
Next time you have to deal with M or anyone else like her, just noot out loud. Put that noot all up in her face. Make her feel it. Let her know that you're not a chick to be messed with. Stay calm and noot on!!
