Yeah I had nights like that when I worked at a gas station, I was always alone and good luck getting a hold of the manager if something went down (almost nightly because everything in the place was junk) he never answered his phone I had to learn very quick how to fix everything solo and still managed to catch hell from some impatient ass a night!
One night i was helping a woman who was pissed about how we didnt have any packaged creamer for her coffee, and someone restocked the creamer thing wrong so it wasnt working, and i fixed it but she said, whatever i dont want this shit anyway and wouldnt except an apology, and while i was helping her a man stood at the counter for about a minute (i was alone) and when i apologized for making him wait he just said "you dont look sorry" while i was trying to be smiley and polite then he demanded to speak to my manager (she was getting time with her kids) and claimed he would never come here again because of my rudeness
When people said to me they'd never come back because something acted up I just waved and said bye. I guess the best part about when I worked there is that I literally couldn't be fired, nobody else could run nightshift (I was there 7 nights a week) I had already out lasted three managers and by the time the second manager left I was the one that got phone calls when crap went south during first and second shifts. When I got fed up with the manager that was there towards the end of my employment I left them hanging without me, I just quit one day out of the blue. I hated that guy!!!!
Omg i swear some customers get all rude even if you ask for email or phone number. Like dude, just say no thank you, its not like im asking so i can call you tonight
Don't yell at your servers or get mad at cooks either, like c'mon guys we're just trying to do our jobs. Line cooks end up cooking for like 40 people at a time on busy nights, and lots of kitchens don't have air conditioning so in summers it's 90-100 degrees back there; so y'all fuckers chill when your food takes 30 mins, we're trying.
