Scorpions are immune to their own venom. According to about half an hours worth of internet research, the scorpions' muscles are attached such that they can contract but not relax. In a human, there are always opposing muscle groups, such as the bicep and triceps opposing each other, so their contractions move in opposite directions. A scorpion only has one of those "directions" so it uses blood hydraulics to oppose the muscle. Dehydrating means a significant loss of pressure so the muscle takes over. But why does it die? Dehydration.
