Looks like Bernie sanders, presidential canidate for 2016 and a democrat who aims to use the Scandinavian form of socialism as a model for what America should be like. High taxes, but also things like free healthcare and education are features of the Scandinavian system. Whether or not that is a bad thing is up to you.

Us Scandinavians are happy with our system. But we are small nations, so it would be interested to see if it works on a lagrer country with a higher population.

It would never get voted in, in the States. There's too much focus on individual liberty and too little on social cohesion
