Dogs think of us as partners. Cats think of us as that annoying thing that can't feed itself and gives it food when we actually can make it wake up and get out of bed.
I saw this thing and it said cats lick us and bring us dead things like mice and stuff because they legit think we're babies and can't do anything for ourselves, so they feel like they have to take care of us. The bringing of dead things is them trying to teach us how to hunt, haha. I've also heard cats understand what we're trying to tell them, but choose to ignore us.
My dog (in memory of her, lost her last year to old age) would do the same if other dogs (we had a neighborhood stray at one point, once it wandered into our yard and Brandy stood in front of me) got near me and didn't look friendly. Miss her so much, she was the best.
Brandy lived to be at least 18, she was a stray so we of course didn't know her real age, but she had to be put down because she could barely walk (old age). I know she's in a better, painless place now, though :')
My dog did sorta the same thing once!
.
I was little (only 5-6ish?) And at my old house we had some steps to the front door and a small porch. The stairs were covered in that fake grass shit for grip or whatever.
.
Well me being little me ran up the stairs, tripped, and fell back down them on my front skinning both of my legs up bad. So my mom picked me up to take me in and care for it.
.
It was pretty bad, blood was dripping. I was screaming and crying and kicking. (Mind you me and my dog have always been really close). And my dog heard it and flipped her shit.
.
She started barking and growling at my mom thinking that she had hurt me. She even bit her because she thought she needed to protect me. She even now runs to me when I have panic attacks to calm me down. :')
