8 would be at 8:00 pacific time zone, meaning the states over by California and such. 7 means 7:00 central time which would be the Midwestern states. Such as Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and such
Ok at least you have a good reason. I was worried for a bit about the future of our country as I scrolled through these comments. But then again, I grew up on the east coast and now live on the west coast.
Our time keeping system is based on the Sun's position in the sky. Due to the rotation of the Earth, it is sunrise in one place and sunset in another, with everything in between.
Try thinking of it like this . The eastern time zone on the east coast it is 1pm the central time zone it would be 2pm the pacific time zone it would be 3 pm and the mountain time zone it is 4pm .
Except the other way around. Guys, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. East is ahead. Pacific time is 3 hours behind East. So if it's 3pm in the East, it's 12pm in the west.
Have you ever lived on the West Coast? In my experience, when a show is 8/7c, it shows at 8 in PST. Not because it's 8 o'clock on the West Coast when it's 7 in the Midwest, but because programming is delayed on the West Coast. Wouldn't it be silly if The Tonight Show came on at 8 in California just because it was 11 in New York?
This sounds an awful lot like that reassuring lie vs uncomfortable truth thing.
On another note, I wonder how it would work with stuff filmed live over here. Say a baseball game or something that's being presented live, or just a show
uh no. i live in cali (not by choice) and when its 8/7c it comes on at 5, which would make it run the same time as 8pm on the east coast. and for live shows, or fucking new years eve its not usually live. we usually get a recording at a prearranged time. its really odd.
All y'all are confusing as fuck. I live on the pacific coast and when the program says 8/7c we get the program on at 8, no ifs or buts. That is my true experience for every single channel I get.
Pacific time would be 6 if it said 8/7c
Thanks for clearing that up :)
I've only lived in Illinois, so i only really paid attention to the central part
I'm blown away at how no one here knows this.
