1982? Are you sure? Because I'm not sure they adopted that logo until some time later.

Oh man...I remember that thing from college. Not only did it look different (which is obvious), the stylus tracked linearly. A normal tone arm follows an arc because it's stationary at one spot. This linear tracking one was supposed to have an advantage...maybe equal pressure on both sides of the groove or something. Maybe it was just marketing, but that's a 30-year-old memory that hasn't crossed my consciousness ion about that long.
