Yep. It's usually a last call for help. Physiologically, it's the brain last attempt to preserve the life. Most of the time the person writing the note, standing on the ledge, or making that last phone call doesn't even realize that it's not a goodbye they are attempting, it's a last ditch effort to reach for help. At the same time, there is evidence that suggests it's just the last sign we see before they commit suicide. Either way, that's a sad response to get from someone, in regards to the post.
