The difference is your getting paid to deal with the customer. They ain't getting paid to spend their money there. See look at that sentence. Let it sink in. If you dont like customer service choose another job.
Speaking as someone who worked in customer service thru high school (I loved my job) , some people are just rude . They talk down to you and treat you like you are beneath them and not smart enough to breath . This is not the norm but there are ppl like that out there . Even tho I was being 'paid' to be there , there is no reason to treat another human being the way those select few do .
Yeahhh. But its still the name of the job. Customer service. Ive been customer service too and dealt with those kinds of people. But your pretty much getting a shit pay to Jedi mind trick those shits into feeling like an asshole for being an asshole. Go get a psych degree or something. Easier on the stress.
Actually, psychologists are very likely to get depressed and I've heard that a lot tend to get suicidal.
And going to get a psych degree isn't that easy. You'd still need a job to pay for the school for that, and it takes years. And a job isn't always guaranteed afterwards.
Just because I work in custoemr service doesn't mean that I am SUPPOSED to get harassed because the customer wanted to use a coupon that expired three months prior.
And they very well are getting paid to spend their money there as they need things to live.
Our registers close at 10 and we had a man come in and harrass the store supervisor because no lanes were open. Even though it was almost midnight.
Dealing with shitty people isn't in the job description. The customer should not get to be mad on something that is their fault and cause someone to get fired.
If I could find a another job I would, but the only things open to someone who has yet to earn a degree are for things in customer service.
Your right but I also think im right too XD. Were both right. No one deserves to be treated like that. But like I said its kind of in the job requirements to be able to deal wth honary shits as well. In my experience its always best to make them feel like an asshole for being an asshole. Its all in your tone of voice and demeanor. If you dont break it they start feeling like a shit. And Ive had some good luck with a temporary agency when it comes to job choices. you should look into it maybe?
