Well I'm gonna sit and stare at my laptop in my room, but I'm also gonna sit and stare at my laptop in the kitchen, maybe in the den if I'm feeling crazy.
I keep hearing and reading about people bitching about seeing other people constantly "staring" at their phones. Take 30 seconds to stop complaining about the situation and think. Our phones are a magical box of knowledge. The person staring at the screen is more likely to be reading the news or a work email than reading a text message. A lot of people regularly use and rely on their phones for things other than simple communication. You call a person looking at their phone anti-social and don't even realize the obvious hypocrisy in your statement. Smart phones give people the opportunity to interact with a social group that isn't immediately present. I'm sorry that guy on the bus didn't say hi because he was talking to his aging parents thousands of miles away, or maybe he was reading an article about genocide in Africa. I'm so damn sorry your feelings were hurt so badly that you had to force this disdain for other people for a pretty damn arbitrary reason on the public.
