He survived a tragic accident that paralyzed him from the back down, but he didn't let it stop him from visiting kids in the hospital while dressed like Superman. He also donated a ridiculous amount of money to charities
That's all well and good, but doesn't chance the fact the text is a pretty pedestrian definition of hero.

Hero: a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities
I think donating large portions of your money to those in need is a fine quality indeed. Overcoming your own struggles to help others (dressing up as superman and visiting disabled/sick kids, despite being terribly injured and disabled himself) is also a great act of bravery. A Hero doesn't always take a bullet for you. Sometimes they ignore their own wounds to treat yours
Well if you want "hero" to be synonymous with "fine person", I guess you can go ahead, but it still seems to me like it does the word a disservice.
Also, I have no idea why you insist on thinking I was talking about anything more than the text itself.
