Where? I don't know what the he'll you're talking about.... it's illegal to pick up a turtle? Maybe in a national park or if it's endangered. What classifies as "disturbing wildlife?" Am I not allowed to walk through the woods anymore?

Certainly looks more like a turtle than tortoise, it has webbed feet not rounded stumps but hey I must be a dolt too then

The little follow is certainly and most defiantly a tortoise and not a turtle!

It has a dome shaped shell with bumps and legs that appear to be able to bend. That is definitely a tortoise. I had a pet turtle for 10 years, I know my stuff

That is a Russian tortoise. Found not only in Russia but all over Asia as well. A common species seen in the pet world, they're in the genus Tseudo

yes. Russian tortoise. makes it a tortoise. however it is in common language acceptable to lump turtles tortoises and terrapins into the group "turtles" mostly because not many know what a "chelonian" but when it comes to technicality, tortoises are not turtles and that is a tortoise.
