This whole movie is exposition. That means this movie would only survive if there's a sequel, the sequel is guaranteed to be better due to less back story and more fighting/using powers
To get people to go to a sequel, the first film needs to be good and leave viewers wanting more. When the first film is such an epic failure and is unilaterally blasted as being terrible, a sequel shouldn't be made

Maybe Fox should have taken all the money they would have put in a sequel and added it to the budget of the first to make it not suck.
I think most people that are calling it shit are just jumping on the bandwagon and didn't actually see it. I went to go see it expecting a crappy movie and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't think it was that bad I kinda liked it. It's far from perfect sure, but it's not as bad as everyone was saying it was.
