Actually a muffin is quite different from a cake. Different methods of preparation and different textures as a result. It should be less sweet than a cake with a denser, more tunneled interior.

^i have never seen anything so serious describing a muffin. I mean, it's a muffin. you can only say that word once before it starts sounding hilarious

I really like the science side of baking... I think it's fascinating that you can take all the same ingredients and make completely different things just by changing ratios and methods. 8-)
