"If you aren't willing to date somone as ugly as you, you're going to be single for ever". Can't remember who the quote is by but it does apply to ever single person on tumblr.
.. you cannot force attraction. it just IS. i've tried to date a couple men who were, on paper, right for me, but i didn't feel interest for, because "they are great guys i should like them" and it did not go well, it just made me go from disinterest to dislike
Sounds like every time a guy tries to hit on me while I'm trying to just do stuff, (school, shopping, whatever), no matter how many times I say I'm not interested, they seem to think repeatedly telling me that they are interested will get me to change my mind.
Men in general have problems with rejection. ...probably because society keeps telling them they're the ultimate beings who can do whatever they please and get whatever they want.
I was in this situation once and i said fuck it let's give him a try after all why not and after some months he showed his true self and it was an ignorant and manipulative jerk so yeah never gonna try that shit again
I have an awesome guy friend, totally awesome! He had a crush on me, had the guts to ask me out, and I knew he was wonderful and nice, so I gave him a chance. However, when I went to kiss him...nothing. I felt absolutely nothing. He was totally sweet, stable, and we got along fine, but he did nothing for me sexually whatsoever. I went out several more times, tried to make sure I was in the right mood and everything, but it didn't work. I told him it was me, not him, and I nearly lost his friendship, but I worked up the courage to tell him years later and he understood. It's one of those things that suck, but if you're not attracted to them, you're just not. It's purely biological and can't be helped.
I know it hurts, but we're still friends. He came to my wedding and him and my other friend (not my husband) are going to Vegas for Halloween this year and I'll take him to the strip club. CAUSE WE'RE FRIENDS :D
I really like this girl that goes to the same school as me, and we're OK friends as it stands (I think), but I've really got no chance since she is asexual. I'm fine with that, though, and it's not like a relationship would actually help me anyway. It'd just be another unnecessary distraction preventing me from focusing on the IB. Besides, I'm happy enough with this slightly painful friendship, and I'd probably be terrible in fulfilling that role of 'boyfriend' for her, or anyone, really.
hey on the flip side though (which yes is NOT the norm) I have a friend who dated her current boyfriend just to give him a shot bc he really liked her and they've been together for over a year and they've been really happy
But just because you're not attracted to someone NOW means that you'll never be. If you aren't willing to give people a fair chance you'll never form the bonds there could've been. :(
