If an alien is looking at our planet in the same way we look at things--our eyes processing light reflected off objects--that means they're viewing us via light reflecting off the planet. If the alien is 65 million light years away, that means the reflected light they're seeing has travelled at the speed of light for 65 million years. So the image they're seeing right now is one that took 65 million years to reach them, and it would be an image of the planet at a time when dinosaurs existed. Which is fricken awesome.
