Well, my theory is, whenever you say for example "Shall I open a pack of Skittles?" when you're with someone, she hears it as her name and thinks that it's for her. Later, she starts associating these little "colourful" (yes, dogs can see colour, but a very limited spectrum compared to us) packets, she'll come and beg for some of that delicious sweet-smelling treat. Maybe naming her Skittles might not have been the most tactical idea, but the dog is a total cutiepie, so it's okay.
