See that's why people of today are unqualified to choose their leader. Mainly because our education system is shit. People here are entitled little ahits
No he has no formulated plan he thinks that by the government giving to the people is completely ok. He has SOME good ideas he's still not qualified to fox major issues in the country.
What's bad about socialism? My husband got his PhD for free, and my first was affordable on an average salary. Anyone who wants to pursue an education should be able to without either saving for years or being put in ridiculous debt. I don't know why socialism is such a dirty word for so many people.
Why does everyone feel so entitled? Give me this give me that. I'am a citizen so I deserve free this free that. Beware of what you wish for. when you take you have to give. The price of freedom and free things is very costly.
The federal government cannot pay for the tuition for all citizens. College education is not necessary for all people. Some people are intellectually incapable of finishing college, and some simply do not wish to do so.
Not only does Bernie want this, he is also equal rights for everybody, wants to increase the minimum wage to $15/hr, and wants free healthcare (I'm like 99% certain on that last one). He wants countless other things as well. If I was at the voting age he would have my vote. Also #feelthebern is a thing so who wouldn't want that?
Pizza, please look into how the government works and politics before you reach voting age. I'm not trying to be rude because before I took AP Gov this year, I would've been on the same page as you but handing out "free" stuff isn't what's going to fix this country. And also, nothing is free.
Yeah here come the high taxes. Thank God that he can only propose it. The bill has to go through two other branches before he can actually pass it through.
Republicans won't impose ANY tax to support this. Democrats won't impose a tax that isn't paid entirely by the top 1% to support this. It will never happen.
I don't support this at all, mainly because my taxes are going to go up even higher and illegal immigrants, who don't even pay taxes, are going to take advantage of this system at the citizens' expense.
This won't be "free" we will clearly have to pay for it back in taxes. This so called free education is a lie except now you have to pay for it no matter what!
NOT ONLY WILL TAXES GO UP BUT WE'RE ALREADY IN DEBT AND THE BUDGET IS SH*T THIS WILL NOT END WELL. nice idea but it just won't work. People need to stop being so entitled like the world owes them a living
Bernie Sanders is a retard. The problem with making college free is that as the colleges lose money from not being paid, the quality of their teaching will degrade, making the value of a college education less, and making the whole thing pointless. If the government ends up funding the colleges, then it will go farther into debt, causing additional problems.
The reason this has worked for other countries is because they have populations that are a fraction of the U.S. population, allowing them to give each citizen more benefits.
While I do agree that it would be a good thing for colleges to lower tuition, it simply won't work for everything to be free.
I think it's important to note that America, since it is much bigger, probably has a significantly larger amount of resources and a much larger government. Also, once you actually look into Bernie Sanders plan and you actually get the facts about it you'll have to agree that he is not only better than every single republican candidate, he's also better than every other democratic candidate too.
America's government is already in debt. Also if everyone can get a degree then a degree will not be as important. I think the current system needs a revision but this whole "free college" thing is not a good idea. (Personally I dislike every candidate but I prefer Hillary)
This is old and every one has probably unfollowed this post's comments. But, Jmvail, that is one of the stupidest things I have heard in a long time. A degree from a reputable university is not simply bought, it is earned through hardwork and time. All free college would do is make it so that everybody is playing on a level field financially when it comes to universities. It wouldn't make it so that every Bob and Sally can just sign up and receive a masters degree without working their arse off for it.
So who will pay the professors, maintenance, custodial, food service, secretaries, etc...it takes a lot to run a school, how on earth could it be free???? Also, EVERYONE can get a degree, it means getting a degree becomes meaningless. I took out loans just like everyone else but I also got a partial scholarship which really helped me. Don't you realize how little sense your statements make?
First of all, why do you think there would be a raise in taxes if not to pay for those bills? Second of all, I'm almost absolutely certain that you went to a shit college because your grammar is atrocious. Finally, I'm unfollowing these comments, because I recognize your particular brand of stupidity and narcissism. I know that there's no way that you'll ever accept reason into your life.
Wow. I'm not sure what to say except the WSU Vancouver is a fine school. And taxes are what pays for k-12 public schools, you know the ones everyone agrees are inadequate? You want that for college? If you want a different system move somewhere else and then perhaps you will realize why everyone there wants to come here.
Only the richest americans would experience a tax raise that high. Everyone else would only see a slight increase in their taxes which would be offset by all the various ways that his programs would save the average person money.
The reason this has worked for other countries is because they have populations that are a fraction of the U.S. population, allowing them to give each citizen more benefits.
While I do agree that it would be a good thing for colleges to lower tuition, it simply won't work for everything to be free.
