not true, if you practice you can make the voice quieter and even disappear for some time, good if you're trying to sleep ;)

I have a condition that's quite common but not well known where right as I'm falling asleep I'll hear a loud bang, or yell in my head that jolts me awake. It's called exploding head syndrome. That's the only time the sounds in my head are very loud. But I guess that doesn't count as controlling the volume.
