actually, if i may offer my take on this: i keep a diary. i read it when i'm upset, i read the highlighted parts that i've higlighted the times before when I was upset and eventually, i smirk at it, even smile, sometimes, if i read enough, i manage to laugh. i make myself laugh. i'm 'that person', you see?
it's good to have relationship goals and people you can depend on etc but it's also good to know how to take care of yourself on your own. it's good to be your own best friend and make yourself feel better because others won't always be there and even if they were, you can't expect them to be in charge of your happiness, it's not their duty to wipe your tears and make you laugh. you know what i'm saying?

I do, but I was simply referring to chivalry. But I do see your point.
