captain, you're not quite right; gasoline will start to develop varnish deposits within about 6 months, rendering it unusable. Diesel fuel, on the other hand, will last a long time and diesel engines will run off veggie, corn, canola oils, oil from fast food fryers (that's been filtered) with little to no modification. Kerosene is also, essentially, diesel fuel that's been refined. With a beast like this, I'd bet there's a multi-fuel diesel engine in there.
