The only time she wasn't supposed to be frizzy-haired was during the ball in the goblet of fire. But she lost her buck teeth during that book too, and she didn't want them back

Yeah unfortunately for me my hair is the equivalent of book Hermione’s hair and it is not changing anytime soon. The worst part is my hair was fine, just wavy and pretty till I turned 11 and it’s been a crazy frizzy curly mess ever since.
