Do we see this kind of chaos in the animal kingdom though? In some species maybe yes, but it's not every day. Animals have figured out a way to live peacefully with one another (aside from the fact that most species are hunted by another) why is it that we can not? Greed. That's why. Money has made us greedy, animals have no concept of it and thus have no wars, no homelessness, all have equal educations according to the mental evolution per species. If you ask me, they're better off.
"Do we see this kind of chaos in the animal kingdom"
Yes, nature is very chaotic.
"Animals have figured out a way to live peacefully with one another (aside from the fact that most species are hunted by another)"
>animals are very peaceful, except for all that not peaceful stuff that happens all the time
"no homelessness"
Most animals don't have anything that can be called a home.
"equal educations"
Sure, but only because they all have no education.
So you agree with hobbit? Is that what you're saying? There's a difference between us and animals and it's a good difference in most areas. An irrational person can say rational stuff, nobody is completely one thing. You should know that, you've said some pretty irrational things yourself.
But without any of these things, you are essentially homeless. You need money for food in our society, and hunting is no longer common knowledge among humans since the concept of currency has begun to rule our lives.
We are incapable to surviving without money. I'd like to see you try it.
We're incapable of surviving without other people. There a plenty of tribals that don't have an actual currency, but you need the skills of other people in order to survive, and even they barter things in order to obtain things from other people. Money is a streamlined way of attaching a numerical value to goods and services so they can be more easily traded between people.
I always see that one poem about humans being the only species with the concept of time, but people rarity ever mention the fact that the concept of money is totally imaginary. Many species have internal body clocks, ways to know a what point they need to hunt/sleep/migrate, but the only species that uses the concept of currency is humans. No other animals even trade within their communities (as far as I know anyway).
Clearly we are doing something wrong
Yes, of course, the systems and customs that led to the rise of civilization and standards of living were a terrible mistake. We should all go back to living in caves and dying of cholera at 28.
I think it's quite obvious to see that that's not what I meant. It costs nothing to build a house or shelter, but today it does because humans managed to put a price on everything.
It's still very possible to live in our advanced society without needing to worry about money.
Did you know that in the US there is more empty houses than homeless people? Why can't they just live in those houses? Because they don't have enough money. This is not right, it is inhumane. Is anyone benefitting from millions of empty houses everywhere? No. But they remain empty purely because everyone is so damn obsessed with money and will not find the humanity within themselves to allow another person to live.
If you allow a homeless person with no money to live in your house, he won't maintain because he doesn't have the means to, so your house will decrease in value continually over time. Why would you do that?
Wow. You are far more stupid than I originally thought.
First if all: im not suggesting someone else live with me. Im saying that we should give people without homes their /own/ ones. It's not like there isn't plenty to go around.
Second of all: this is the point of my entire argument, houses do not need value. Value is simply the concept of money drilled into our brains. No one is going to die when their house looses 'value'. Honestly I try to not care about such trivial things. I'm a bit more worried about if my house is doing its job and keeping me alive rather than its goddamn 'value'
Thirdly, why would a homeless man/woman not have the means to maintain a house? Talking from past experience, when you lose something you tend to be extremely careful to not do it again when you gain it back.
"value is simply the concept of money drilled into our brains."
So, what everyone should be nihilist? Nothing has value? Should we abandon the concept of property as well?
"I'm a bit more worried about if my house is doing its job and keeping me alive rather than its goddamn 'value' "
So your "working" house is not valuable to you?
"Thirdly, why would a homeless man/woman not have the means to maintain a house?"
Because they likely do not have the skill or money to take care of it.
I really think you don't understand my point here.
It's not that difficult to keep a place clean. It's not some kind of magical knowledge only privileged people have. And if you think it is you need to get off of your fucking high-horse and meet reality.
More to the point, my whole idea here is that humans don't really /need/ money to do anything. Think about it. If you just went and built a house without paying for the resources all you would need is the knowledge of how to do it. The only difficulty you would encounter would be society complaining that you did not pay for it.
I don't see why you can't understand that money is not the pinacle of human survival.
Back to the original post, what kind of uneducated idiot are you to not realise that we legit need to pay to be alive. We need to pay for food, water, shelter and our own education. All the while, nothing would be different if we didn't need to do so. (to be continued)
The only change that having no money would be that more people could survive and live out their lives happily. Greed would virtually disappear, wars too, slavery, limited education, all of this could be gone, if only humanity focuses on uniting our species and working together rather than winning this human 'race'
"It's not that difficult to keep a place clean."
I'm not talking about keeping the place clean, I'm talking about replacing shingles and redoing siding and such, things most people don't know how to do and would have to hire someone to have done, which would require some sort of payment for services rendered.
"The only change that having no money would be that more people could survive and live out their lives happily."
Do you really think people wouldn't just start bartering for things if money suddenly disappeared? Taking away money wouldn't eliminate the concept of value.
with no money we would simply barter. it would remain much the same as it is now, you live in a really idealistic place in your head if you think removing money would eliminate greed, wars, slavery, and bad education. in fact i bet with no money things like slavery increase, as you can make more for yourself if you own a bunch of people to make it for you, which increases the number of people not getting an education, plus your quality of educators will decrease when you no longer pay them with money, but instead they have to cross their fingers you think the education they gave your child is good enough to give them a healthy cow and not just the one you were gunna cull anyways. and we've always fought wars over things and beliefs, money is more a secondary factor as a result of assigning monetary value to the things we want, and even without a dollar sign we'll still know the value.
I find it fucking weird that people think systems animals and insects use would make the world a better place. Nature is big eat small, and humans barely have advanced anywhere near being past that.
