We can... We have the ability. Yet, we will not. We lack the morality or will.

Earth isn't becoming, "less earth" even niel degrasse tyson spoke about climate change and the current direction of our planet. It's not as if the world is going to end for at least the next millions of years. But more that climates become warmer and closer to pre-ice age weather patterns.

I think he means "Earth" as in what the Earth used to be like before humans.

I don't know what the quote is from, but I would guess he's talking about the concept of something like terra-forming Mars in the event that Earth becomes uninhabitable. He's saying that's a silly concept because if we could terra-form Mars then we could just terra-form Earth.

He wasn't wondering what the entire quote meant.

Well then it was kind of unnecessary

I was disagreeing with your interpretation of "Earth".

Well I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. One day we will most probably ruin our planet. If we are to terra-form it, it would have to be equivalent of an Earth before humans.

I would assuming he would be taking about the current Earth, or at the very most a pre-industrial Earth. Unless you consider a pre-industrial Earth and a pre-human Earth to be essentially the same.
