It's called the friend zone because women tend to categorize men they meet into men that they can be friends with and men that they might date. You've been place in the zone of friends, which is outside of the zone of potential boyfriends.
There isn't so much of a friend zone with men, as they don't tend to categorize the women in their life into potential friend and potential girlfriend categories.
Him: What are you watching?
Me: Shingeki no Kyojin. 47th time now.

This is bullshit, Typically friendzoning occurs when person 1 asks person 2 out, and person 2 doesn't want to date person 1 so they friendzone them bc they want to avoid hurting person 1's feelings. You can call me a sexist or whatever, but it is more common for guys to ask girls out than it is for girl's to ask guys out. While girls might give hints, it's not common for the girl to make the first move. And since the guys make the first move more than girls, it is obvious that they experience rejection through friendzone.
Not all of them doe.
Fuck.
