When I was little, my grandma wouldn't let me have a drink right after taking medicine, because she said it would dilute it and not work. I had to suffer through the lasting taste.
Why not just mix the medicine with the juice? (Tip: when giving pills to small children or people who have trouble swallowing them, crush the pill and mix it with a spoonfull of jam before giving it to them.)
Make sure the pill can actually be crushed.
Many are time delayed pils that react when the body breaks down the coating before delivering the medicine. If you crush it, they might get a dosage too early.
In reply to mixing meds in a drink. It works for liquid medicine. When I was little I broke my arm and of course I was on painkillers. My mom would mix it in this cup with a really cool swirly straw and id have a 'drinking contest' with one of my sisters. That way I downed the entire thing without a care!
