Everybody has a different way of coping with things. This is what some people need to do to cope with the tragedy. I will admit I was furious when I first saw the filter because there are so many areas in the world that need our support just as much as France does but they have received little to no mention. But I came to see that it was a way for people to cope and come to terms with what has happened and I think that's the most important thing
Maybe because they're putting a flav filter over their profile but that's all they're doing besides " spreading awareness " by sharing posts
They act like they're doing everyone a huge favour but all they did was add a filter and click a button. They aren't offering aid, donating, nothing that can really help.
The flag profile picture is a way to show support and to say "I know it's really hard right now, but I'm standing with you." It isn't so much to spread awareness because everyone already knows what happened, it's just something supportive.
