Okay well I suppose that could be, but if she really hated her that much she should come up with something better. And probably pay more attention to small things like if two people are dating.
i ruined a reputation of this really nasty girl at my high school. I was in grade nine and she was a mean bitchy/slutty acting girl in a group i sat with. She would always put me down and say i was fat and ugly. One day i decided to make up a rumour about her being pregnant. i said it to one person and sure enough by midday the whole school heard it. As it turns out it wasn't a rumour at all, she was pregnant after sleeping with two guys at my high school. So that is the story of me trying to start a rumour and it ending up being the truth.
That raises an interesting moral question. If you intentionally speak a lie but due to unknown variables it turns out you're actually right, did you lie or tell the truth?
You lied morally, but spoke truthfully. Also guest, that wasn't a nice thing to do, even if she was a nasty person a rumour like that is VERY serious and should not be started
In court it would still be a lie because to her knowledge, she made it up believing it was untrue. She basically committed slander and defamation of character.
