Now that I think about it more I get it but I assumed they were saying he built the bridge at the school but he built it at their apartment so she could attend school

If that were in the USA the dad would have wined, cried "victim", and screamed inequality until some someone figured the problem out for him (probably taxpayers). But then the family wouldnt have had this great accomplishment worthy of the front page of FS. And they would expect things to be done for them for the rest of their lives. And thats the difference between liberalism and conservatism.
